Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Hong Kong 2018

Stefan specializes in lyric baritone roles and is known for his rich and flexible voice and engaging stage presence. Opera News described Stefan Gordon as notable among a cast of young, talented singers in his 2009 production of Jerome Kern's the Cabaret Girl.

As Captain Corcoran, Stefan Gordon was stately, tried and true, reflecting his rank and station in life. His lyric baritone voice was controlled, focused and never pushed, as he aptly demonstrated in “Fair Moon to Thee I Sing.” -Cleveland Classical

"Stefan Gordon sang the Marquis d’Obigny (in Arizona Opera's La Traviata) with a polished sound." -Opera Today

"Captain Corcoran (in Gilbert and Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore), the fine baritone Stefan Gordon, is very much in command, with a slightly rough timbre that perhaps foreshadows his change in circumstances at the end of Act II. " -Opera News

"Baritone Stefan Gordon lent a Steve Martinesque stylization to the role of Count Carnero (in Strauss' Ziguenerbaron) that was quite a hit with its humorous and captivating wit. His vocal prowess was strong, exacting and prudent." -Cleveland Classical
